Approach

Whether this is your first experience with a psychiatrist or therapist or you’ve been in treatment before, Dr. Minami understands how challenging it can be to find mental health treatment. Dr. Minami believes that effective treatment begins with a therapeutic connection in which people feel comfortable, respected, and validated. When meeting with her, she makes it her goal to listen to your concerns and work with you to develop a treatment plan that is clear, individually tailored, and based on the most up-to-date clinical recommendations in the field. Treatment can include psychotherapy, which Dr. Minami has dedicated several years of additional education (see below) to incorporate into her practice.  Many of her patients enjoy and benefit from having one provider for all their mental health needs, whether it is psychotherapy, medication, or a combination of the two.  In situations where medications are needed, Dr. Minami will provide her recommendations and guidance for the safest and most evidence-based options for your condition after reviewing your medical history.
